IM ALIVE
I got to mexico all safe and sound! I am only allowed to write a short letter but I am all good and alive! There were about 50 missionaries on my flight and I met 3 sisters and an elder going to Puerto Rico. my companion is Hermana bates. she is also going to Puerto Rico. I ran into Jennifer's brother, the pilot, in the airport. he has pictures. I didn't have my camera when we on the flight but i have friends who are going to email me them. my pday is Friday. love you so much!!!!! have a great day!

Please use the CheckMyTrip link (located at the bottom of this email) to view your itinerary and any schedule changes made by the airline to your flight within 72 hours of departure.
You are required to check-in at the airport 2 hours prior to departure.
NAMETAGS- You will be issued nametags upon arrival at the Mexico MTC.
PACKING– Your carry-on bag should contain a clean shirt, socks, garments, etc. in case your bags do not arrive as scheduled. By being prepared, you can still look professional even though you may not have full use of your clothing.
BAGGAGE FEES – Please visit each airline(s) website for information on baggage fees and weight allowances. You will be responsible to pay airline baggage fees when traveling to the Mexico MTC. According to the Missionary Department, each missionary is allowed 2 bags at 50 pounds each, unless otherwise stated in your call packet. You will be responsible to pay for baggage to the
mission, but will be reimbursed once you arrive in the field and submit your receipts. Fees paid for excess baggage will not be reimbursed.
FLIGHT/AIRPORT INFORMATION–Please review your itinerary below for travel to Mexico City. You have been issued an electronic ticket. Tickets are non-refundable and change fees apply.
Upon arrival at the airport, go immediately to the airline’s check-in counter and have your boarding pass printed. Please check your baggage to your final destination.
Proceed directly to the boarding gate for your flight. Check departure screens to make sure you go to the correct gate. Board the flight as soon as it is called, so the flight will not be delayed or your seat given away.
DELAYED/CANCELED FLIGHTS- If your departure is significantly delayed or canceled, speak first with the airline, then call the Church Travel Office at 1-800-537-3537 as soon as you have been advised of the new schedule. If calling outside of regular business hours, you will get a recording. Press zero slowly twice to be connected to the church operator and ask for the travel agent on-call. The Travel Office will advise the MTC of your new schedule.
Stay close to the departure gate so you will be aware of any updates or other changes.
LOST BAGGAGE – If your baggage does not arrive at your final destination, you must file a “lost baggage report” with the airline before you leave the airport. Use the MTC address (listed on the FMM form example) as the baggage delivery address.
VISA/IMMIGRATION INFORMATION – Your passport will be stamped with a visa by an immigration official at the Mexico City Airport. FMM- A portion of the completed FMM document will be given back to you. Please ensure the validity is 180 days and keep it in a safe place, preferably in your passport, until you depart Mexico. When departing Mexico City en route to your mission, you will need to give that portion of the FMM to the airline or face paying additional fees and possible delays in departing the country.
If you have not yet sent a readable copy of your passport ID page to the Church Travel Office, please do so now by sending it to USMissions@ldschurch.org.
AIRPORT PICK UP INSTRUCTIONS-Once you arrive in Mexico City, you will pass through Immigration, collect your baggage and be cleared through Customs. Please be courteous with all government and airline personnel.
A representative from the MTC will be outside of security at the airport to pick you up. Please stay in a group with the other missionaries and avoid blocking the doorways. If you are unable to locate the representative, please refer to the emergency contact information below. DO NOT ACCEPT RIDES FROM INDIVIDUALS OR TAXI COMPANIES.

Day of Travel/Airport Check-in
- Please check with the airline a day or two prior to your departure date to verify your flight time or flight number has not changed. You can also verify your flight times by clicking on the Check My Trip link located on the top right of your itinerary. Arrive at the airport 1 ½-2 hours prior to domestic flights with valid state or federal photo ID and travel documentation.
· You are able to check in online 24 hours before the departure of the flight on the airline’s website using the airline’s confirmation number located above the flight number. This will allow you to print your boarding pass at that time. Checking in online is optional. You can still check in at the airline counter at the airport and they will print your boarding passes for you. Either way, you will need to drop off your baggage at the airline counter.
Baggage
· You will be responsible for the baggage fees to the MTC. Current baggage information can be found on your airline’s website.
· Most domestic airlines charge for checked baggage. Please be prepared to pay these charges. You will not be reimbursed for baggage on flights from your home to the Provo MTC. If you check in online within 24 hours of travel and pay for your bags via credit card, most airlines give a small discount.
· If your itinerary contains more than one airline, additional baggage fees may apply.
· Please request your bags be checked to your final destination.
Canceled or Delayed Flight
- If your flights are canceled or significantly delayed, you, the missionary, should call Missionary Travel directly at 801-240-5149 or 801-537-3537. Most airline counters will allow you to call from their phones if you ask.
